Who is
ADRIANA CUVA?
Adriana Cuva is a devoted wife, mother, educator, and advocate who understands the challenges facing Colorado families. After decades of supporting military service, teaching young people, and working alongside her community, she has dedicated herself to promoting public safety, affordability, and the freedom to thrive. Her leadership is rooted in listening, serving others, and standing up for the values that strengthen Colorado.
At a young age, I was instilled with the values of honesty, integrity, and service. My father served as a judge in Ecuador and never compromised his principles for personal gain. After my parents divorced, my mother brought my sisters and me to the United States, where she worked tirelessly to build a better life for our family. Watching her learn English, overcome obstacles, and support us as a single parent taught me the importance of perseverance, personal responsibility, and faith.
While attending college, I met my husband, and shortly after, he enlisted in the United States Army. We married and began a military journey that would span more than 30 years. Like many young families, we faced financial struggles early on, but through hard work, sacrifice, and determination, we built a life together. I earned my bachelor's degree, graduating Summa Cum Laude with dual majors in Finance and Economics from SUNY Oswego.

Although my original goal was to pursue a career in finance, military life led me down a different path. I became a middle school teacher and discovered a passion for helping young people learn, grow, and succeed. Teaching gave me a firsthand understanding of the importance of strong families, quality education, and supportive communities.
As an Army wife for more than three decades, I experienced the sacrifices of military life firsthand. I raised our children through multiple deployments, including one that began just two months after the birth of our daughter. During those challenging years, I relied on the support of our church, neighbors, and military community. Attending military funerals on behalf of my deployed husband left a lasting impression on me and deepened my respect for the men and women who sacrifice to defend our freedoms. Freedom is never free.
I also faced significant personal health challenges. After years of debilitating symptoms and countless medical appointments, I was ultimately diagnosed with Lyme disease. Through faith, determination, and treatment, I recovered and gained a renewed appreciation for resilience, gratitude, and the importance of never giving up.
Living abroad for several years provided my family with a unique perspective on the freedoms we enjoy as Americans. While homeschooling our children throughout Europe, I taught them about history, liberty, and the dangers of systems that diminish individual freedom. Visiting American military cemeteries across Europe further strengthened my appreciation for the sacrifices made by generations of Americans to preserve the freedoms we cherish today.
When my family returned to Colorado, I was shocked by how much more expensive life had become. The rising cost of living, growing government burdens, and concerns about public safety inspired me to become more involved in my community. I served as Secretary of the El Paso County Republican Party, worked alongside grassroots volunteers across our county, and helped lead the Protect Kids Colorado petition effort as the El Paso County and Southern Colorado Regional Co-Captain. I firmly believe that protecting children from trafficking and exploitation is not a partisan issue, but our moral responsibility.
Today, as the wife of a retired Army officer, the mother of an Air Force servicemember, a former teacher, and a community leader, I remain committed to serving others. I am running for Colorado House District 18 because I believe families deserve safer communities, greater affordability, better opportunities, and leaders who will stand up for their freedoms.

My life has been shaped by faith, service, sacrifice, and perseverance. Those values have guided me throughout every chapter of my life, and they are the values I will bring with me as I fight for the people of House District 18.
